DJ:LA ACCEPTED INTO MIAMI SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
After a long weekend at the San Diego Asian Film Festival, I find out that my film, DJ:LA, gets into Miami Short Film Festival! It will be entered in the experimental short film competition; don't know the exact screening date yet, but you can check out the site here: http://www.miamishortfilmfestival.com/

I'm Djing at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo this Saturday from 6:30PM to 9:30PM for the GIANT ROBOT exhibit opening: http://www.janm.org/exhibits/gr50/home
Developed in collaboration with Eric Nakamura of Giant Robot and the Japanese American National Museum. In celebration of its 50th issue and in collaboration with the Japanese American National Museum, the pop-culture magazine Giant Robot has assembled works by ten cutting-edge artists from around the country in Giant Robot Biennale: 50 Issues.

SOUNDTRACK is a fundraising event for a short film omnibus directed by 4 different filmmakers. The event will be showcasing live performances, dj's, artists, short films and music videos in 2 rooms at the Grandstar Jazz Club in Los Angeles. The event will also debut the live performance of the short film, DJLA, directed by Jerry Chan

DJLA is an innovative film that marries images with sound, creating a picture of Los Angeles that is manipulated and moved by the pulse of the soundtrack. Dj's will mix and scratch the sound effects and music live and in sync to the images on screen, creating a live soundtrack.
This event mixes music, artwork, films, and live performances, bringing a unique show that showcases different forms of entertainment.

DJ:LA is a short film that remixes the frenzied sights and sounds of the Los Angeles landscape to uncover the rhythm and melody of the city. It takes inspiration from turntablism—the record manipulation techniques of a DJ—and attempts to translate it to film.
